Don't forget implementation
The subscription is only part of the cost. Ask every vendor for:
- Onboarding or implementation fees. These range from free to more than $100,000 for enterprise systems.
- Data migration costs. Moving customers, lanes, drivers and history out of your old system.
- EDI setup fees. Some vendors charge per trading partner, and some charge per transaction.
- Training. Whether it's included, and whether it's on site or remote.
- Time to go live. Every extra month on your old system is a month of paying for two.
